It is the most confusing error faced by the new user of WordPress. Whenever you try to install any plugins or themes you get an error as update failed ! or Error 500 internal server error.
I will not go into more details but I will tell you what is the root of this problem. It happens because of PHP. Just follow this blog for its solution:
1. Login to your GoDaddy's account
2. navigate to web hosting
3. check the domain in which you are facing error.
4. you will see Hosting setting
5. After clicking on this, navigate to the middle of page and find
6. Now change CGI to FASTCGI Application and Change Php version from 5.2 to 5.6.
7. You can now Install your themes or plugins successfully by going to wordpress dashboard without any Error.
But During this time, your website will be not active. it will show error.
8. After installing your plugins. simply move into hosting services and again change your PHP support as CGI and PHP version 5.2.
9. Now your website is active with your plugins.
